A CAMPAIGN FROM ALERT AND DISTANT VOICES
WHAT IS THE COST OF
LET'S BE HONEST
Most people don't believe this do they; they dread the pain and terror of death or disability for that matter. So they're buying the hype and in some cases swanning, or crawling more like, to Switzerland, to swallow the mad man's potion, with the promise that it will let the poor sods' slip off the old 'mortal coil' and sail blissfully towards that coral island guaranteed to bring us peace and of course an end to pain.
If you received the first piece of info from us about IT then this is the second about US AND YOU. If this is your first contact, don't worry everything is here.
It's time to drop a bomb, a bombshell, in this case; time to get out there to
TELL THE TRUTH
THANKS to some brave and generous people we've got a bit of money, so that the rather startling the PICTURE and SLOGAN above appeared on huge billboards
Between 14th October and 1st November 2012 IN London, Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle on Tyne, Telford and Manchester
AND on EDINBURGH Waverley Station for the 1st European Symposium on Euthanasia etween 6th to 8th September organised by Care Not Killing
HAVE YOU GOT THE GUTS
the anger, the fear, the bottle, to bring to the attention of the somnambulant British public the need to wake up and smell the lies?
You will need to place yourself in a busy shopping area in the city nearest or even dearest to you; we will explode some myths that our fellow citizens have been fed by the likes of DIGNITY in DYING and their cohort of schemers.
We will SPEAK OUT for ourselves and for those who CANNOT SPEAK and who need us to SPEAK FOR THEM. We will talk to people, tell them the truth and offer them the chance to be safe in their old age and in illness or disability. You can stand for a day, an hour, an afternoon, a weekend, as long as you like, 2, 4, 6, or a whole crowd of you, just be there and be heard before it's TOO LATE.
Remember my friends, First They Came, by Pastor Martin Niemoller
"Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me."
SPEAKING OUT MEANS BECOMING AN ENVOY AND:
TELLING PEOPLE how a change in the law will threaten disabled people whose lives are seen by some as "not worth living." We have ended the lives of some 75 disabled people, and counting, just because we wanted to (M.E.N.C.A.P. Death by Indifference).
TELLING PEOPLE that Minette Marin (Sunday Times 15th July) "I've often felt the best thing one can do for one's children is to die before real infirmity sets in" isn't on her own, there's plenty more where she came from.
TELLING PEOPLE that if you become terminally ill now, your doctor will ask you to sign up NOT TO BE RESUSCITATED if you wish, you won't be able to change your mind, and your family or the doctor, could decide your fate for you if you 'lose capacity.' (Stephen Adams, Telegraph 31st May 2011)
REMEMBER, DIGNITY IN DYING want 'advanced directives' they don't care that it puts vulnerable people's lives at risk, they want euthanasia at any cost.
TELLING PEOPLE that the Liverpool Care Pathway is still a threat to elderly relatives and to anyone whose life is seen as "not worth living."
TELLING PEOPLE that if Debbie Purdy and Terry Pratchett get their way it will change society and how it values many, many, people, for good.
THERE'S MORE: fear not, an online seminar (and a hard copy) will be available to help you to grasp this sad and dangerous subject. We will provide leaflets to help you to cope with questions and a FREE T SHIRT with our now famous logo on and lots of stuff to support you out there. We will show you how to create a very simple, easy to make 'ATTRACTION' TALK BOXES, (if you want it) to get the attention of the public.
OKAY, so if you're: a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Humanist, an Atheist, a person at risk, or you're disabled, old, or just scared like me, or feel the need TO SAY SOMETHING........THEN THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.
Nothing like this has happened before, we will get news coverage, we will be seen and heard. Can you afford not to 'speak out'?
This campaign is brought to you by DISTANT VOICES working with ALERT, Defending Vulnerable People's Right to Live Also with the support of NOT DEAD YETwww.notdeadyetuk.org and Baroness Jane Campbell of Surbiton DBE.
